Hello there and welcome to Community Justice for Women in Scotland.

We are: ‘A strong and united voice that represents women in community justice’ and our work is supported by Scotland’s 8 Community Justice Authorities.

We hope you have found this site because you are interested in improving the lives of women following contact with the justice system.

We wanted to create a forum and a space for people that share our commitment to supporting women to make positive lasting changes, which in turn will benefit wider communities.

Our starting point is this:

Women should not be defined by their offending status, but be seen as contributing, valued members of society.

We passionately believe that alternative options to prison are cost effective and have positive longer lasting results. They are not soft options and dealing with the root cause of the offending behaviour is more likely to reduce further reoffending.
